Event Description

Today seminar continue with Belbin discussion which help us to choose a suitable leader for our assignment group. After that is a short lesson about the development concept and generate idea process.

How did it Make me feel?
During the discussion moment i feel disappointed, one of our group member forgot to bring her notes and she only remember the highest mark for the result, whereas, since none of our group member is under Shaper category, which is the most suitable to be a leader, we have to check 4 of us which get the highest mark for Shaper, because of the member, progress for our discussion take longer time than other group. Besides, I also feel frustrated that same member cannot pay attention during the discussion.

Another feeling is i disappointed to myself when my member asking who willing to be the leader, I know i am the one should be the leader in this group, but I didn't speak out at the beginning. Anyways, sometimes i quite confuse about select people to be leader. Since now is in the way of learning, why we want to choose a potential leader to be our group leader but not the people who should take this opportunities to learn to be a leader? At last, we choose that member which is not suitable to be a leader to take control for our group assignment, reason maybe is because we trying to push the responsibilities to her, but, i hope she can be better and be more responsible.

In second part, I feel surprise about the process of development concept and generate idea. This show how difficult for a company to launch a successful new product into the market.

What did I learn?

We will meet different kind of people in the world, not everyone is easy to communicate as well as easy to work together, i should learn how to communicate with different people.

In the second part, I learn about the process of development concept, We need to understand the environment, analysis customer need and wants in order to fulfill their needs and how to create the best products which can help the company create competitive advantages and to maximize the revenue. This is useful for me in now or in the future.

What would I do differently now?
I will be patient and control myself when communicate with some people that I dont like, and I will be more aggressive, when I have any ideas or opinion i should tell my members.

While we develop a new concept, we need to find out the demand of current market as well as external factor which may influence our concept feasibility.
